Education Bureau, Taichung City Government and Ministry of Finance promotes anti-corruption on school campuses

In advocating anti-corruption awareness among the citizens, Education Bureau, Taichung City Government and Ministry of Finance hosted the “Taiwan Printing Discovery Center Educational Camp - United Nations Convention against Corruption and Invoice Story Treasure Hunt” event at the Taiwan Printing Discovery Center on September 22 and 29 under the theme of United Nations Convention Against Corruption. In total, 146 students from Jianmin Elementary School in Dali District and Guangzheng Elementary School in Wufeng District were invited, hoping to communicate the anti-corruption spirit of the UN and the concept of tax invoice in Taiwan to the students, thereby influencing their family education.

According to the Education Bureau, the event was held at Ministry of Finance’s printing tourist factory to let the participants appreciate and internalize the spirit of anticorruption through an infotainment approach. Furthermore, the aim is also to reinforce the students’ awareness on incorruptibility and moral education from a young age.

For this education camp, the discovery center applied ingenuity to design 4 major themes: Large pop-up book on incorruption, limited edition little incorruption printer, incorruption printing fantasy world experience and incorruption handcrafted book DIY activity. Vivid graphic novel stories and kaleidoscopic printing inks were used to promote the spirit of anti-corruption in an interactive, guided tour approach. In addition, creative handcrafted book DIY experience featuring creative incorruption related motifs was held to strengthen the school children’s anti-corruption awareness.

Moreover, from now until mid-October, the “United Nations Convention against Corruption and Invoice Story Treasure Hunt” promotional installation will be on exhibit at the Taiwan Printing Discovery Center, everyone interested are welcome to join the activities during the event period.
