On August 15, Taichung City Mayor Jason Hu held the 101st Manager’s Report Meeting. During the meeting he requested hat all units should be true to their words. He also pointed out that Taichung Harbor Road is the city metropolitan area’s main traffic trunk way, and there should be long term plans for it, so that disputes can be resolved.

Mayor Hu also pointed that since ChaoMa station has been moved, the traffic situation has been a mess, and long term plans must be made to solve these problems.

Director of the Ministry of Traffic expressed that the transfer station of United Bus used to be situated at the corner of Taichung Harbor Road and LiMing Road, but has now been moved to the corner of Taichung Harbor Road and AnHe Road. Due to the problem of taxi drivers lining up illegally, it has created a serious traffic problem in the area. As for the improvement of the traffic lights system, the neighborhood head and the bureau’s personnel have different opinions on the subject, and is yet to be resolved.

Police Department Chief Yeh Kun-Fu expressed that every Friday after 3pm; the Taichung Harbor Road area becomes very congested. He believes that road signs, traffic signs and parking spaces must be properly planned, then improved according to the actual situation, so that quarrels and accidents can be eliminated.
