It was not until the Executive Yuan decided to grant subsidies towards the project that this historical building could be renovated. Mayor Hu said that there are almost a million people passing through Taichung Railway Station every month. It is a pleasure for the city government to help the station regain its former glory, and Mayor Hu hopes that the Taiwan Railway Bureau will provide the best service to the public, and that Taichung Railway Station will be the most attractive and friendly railway station. And it is hoped that Taichung city and the Taichung Railway Station will develop at the same pace, bringing prosperity to the people of Taichung.
