After years of planning the Global Village Project by the Taichung City Government, the "1/398 Cultural City of Cities" finally saw its opening ceremony on the 20th at Zhong Ming Park. Taichung Mayor Jason Hu hopes that the launch of the very important International Tourist Walk will attract more tourists to the city and create business and sales opportunities that will stimulate local and overseas cultural interactions.

The scope of this project covers both sides of the Ma Yuan Tou River, located by TaiZhongGang (Taichung Harbor) and GongYi roads. The project is also known as "1/398 Cultural City of Cities", a name derived from the fact that Taichung has a total of 398 bridges, including the Chang Chun Bridge which serves as a landmark for the area known as "Little Europe". "Little Europe" is an expanse of green parks and gardens and forms a network of nature and green space that accounts for its uniqueness. With the appeal of the National Museum of Natural Science and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, this part of the city is the new destination for city tourism and travel.
