A total of around 30 national art organizations will work together to host Art Olympics. From the middle of September to the end of November, they will be touring around Taiwan and presenting 88 exhibitions. Taichung amphitheater is chosen to host the first show.

The leader of Art Olympics, Mr. Chen, says that Taichung was chosen instead of Taipei and Kaohsiung is because that all the art groups agree that Mayor Hu, among all the city and county mayors, cares about art activities the most. Therefore, it is hoped that the exhibition in Taichung can lead to a fruitful results at the end of the tour.

Art Olympics groups paid Mayor Hu a visit to ask the city government for the following assistance; place, fund and promotion, which were all met with accurate and positive response. Mayor says that Taichung amphitheater will be officially open on August 5. There should be programs lined up every week at the middle of September. As a result of that, the city government will cooperate fully in terms of providing the place. Art Olympics expresses its will to charge NT$100 per person to Mayor Hu, who thinks that since Taichung citizens should understand and appreciate the concept that "one minute on the stage" requires "ten years of work", hence, charging a certain fee will help promote art. The city government will also appeal for sponsors to allow art to grow.

As for promoting the event, to include people from either the city or country, or even people from other cities to be able to share the art event, the city government will send out the message to central city governments as well.
