Bu-Zi-Keng Bridge was built to facilitate traffic between Bei-Tun and Tai-Ping(2008-03-19)

Overpassing Taichung City and County, Bu-Zi-Keng Bridge is an important traffic connection between Chung-Yuan Road of Taichung City and Da-Xing Road of Tai-Ping City, in Taichung County. Due to damage in 2005 by Hai-Tang typhoon, the construction of a new replacement bridge started on Nov. 13th 2006, noted by Construction Dept. of Taichung municipal government. The bridge was completed a few days ago and is under the confirmation and delivery process. The united launching ceremony for Taichung City and Taichung County is estimated for the middle of April 2008.

The chief of the Construction Dept., Dan-Sheng Wang, has stated that Bu-Zi-Keng Bridge is located on No. 129 county traffic line crossing over Bu-Zi Stream (a branch of Da-Li Stream), which is an important connection between Chung-Yuan Road of Taichung City and Da-Xing Road of Tai-Ping City in Taichung County. The launch of the new bridge will effectively release the increasing heavy traffic between Bei-Tun Area of Taichung City and Tai-Ping City of Taichung County, shorten distances to nearby regions, and promote prosperity and convenience for nearby shops, households and residents.

Under the planning of the Construction Dept., the newly-built bridge has been reconstructed into a two-way “Steel-Box” carriageway with four lanes. The bridge is 46.6 meters long and 20 meters wide, including relevant subsidiary constructions, such as lighting equipment, signposts, traffic signs, etc. NT$ 54.89 million dollars of the 2006 road and bridge construction budget was allocated for this bridge, with the construction cost being NT$ 47.3 million dollars. Taichung City and Taichung County will each share half of the reconstruction funds.
