The team for the Deaf Hearing Impaired Bicycle Charity Aroundaround Island Campaign arrived in Taichung. Vice Mayor Siew led the cheer team to encourage the national team member—Cheng Huai (2009-03-04)

In order to encourage the local player participant of the Deaflympics, the Distinguished Citizens Society IneterationalInternational, Chinese Taipei Sports Association for the Hearing ImpairedDeaf, Ao-Luo Film Company organized the “2009 Hearing Impaired Deaf Bicycle Around the Island Charity Campaign ”Campaign”. Cheng Huai, a member of the Deaflympics bicycle team, player started a 13- day around island trip in on March 2nd. He also visited the Deaflympics players participants located around the island and encouraged them to create set good records of at the games. Today (MacrhMarch 4th), the team arrived in Taichung City and the Vice Mayor Siew Chia Chi, Vice Speaker of City Council Chen Tien-wen Wen hosted the team and encouraged them.


The team planned to spend 13 days to travel around the island. On March 2nd, the team started form from Sanchung City of Taipei County and went south to Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Mioli, Taichung, Changhua, Yunlin, Chiayi, Pingtung, Taitung, and Hualien, Yilan, and then will ride ride to Taipei City on March 14th. During the trip, the team would visit the Deaflympics team players members located around the island. They also recruited about 2000 volunteers to accompany the team to complete the trip and deliver the message of Deaflympics to encourage people to cheer up on the players participants of the Deaflympics.


The team visited Taichung City (the 3rd stop of the trip) this afternoon. Vice Mayor Siew and Vice Speaker of City Council-Chen Tien Wen welcomed the team. Chang Wan-bon (the Chairman of Distinguished Citizens Society IneterationalInternational). Lin Pai-keng Keng (the ex-Chairman of DCSI), Chang Show-yaYa (the Vice Chairman of the North District DCSI and mother of Vivian Hsu) also joined the team to continue the trip to bring more popularity to the campaign.


According to the campaign organizer, the campaign will be documented as a film with the title of “Never Give Up”. There will be 6 Deaflympics players participants joining the film project. They include Chang Li-hsiaoHsiao, who won 3 gold, and 2 silver medals, Lu His-zoeZoe, who won the Tae Kwon Do gold medal, the Lin Keng, who is a, indigenous Deaflympics playerparticipant, Chen Juan-Ni, who is a swimming player, Cheng Chun who is a bicyclist,e player and Ho Chow-hsian Hsian who is a tennis player. Though the hearing impaired deaf playersparticipants are different from ordinary people, they never gave give up and keep on engaging on in their favorite sport to challenge better records. Their positive and optimistic attitude encouraged other hearing impaired deaf people to fight for themselves and keep their concentration, passion and insistinsistence to search the for excellence.
