Jolin Tsai could take the same bus as you! Taichung City launched free TTJ Bus service(2009-05-04)

Hey, commuters! Here is big news for you! The Traffic Department of Taichung City Government launched TTJ Bus service. From May 18 to November17, you can take any bus for free in Taichung City. This year, Joilin Tsai was again invited as the Traffic Ambassador. This morning (4), Mayor Jason Hu promised to send Jolin a prepaid bus card. If Jolin visits Taichung, she can take the bus for free. So, citizens of Taichung may meet Jolin on the bus. To launch the service, Taichung City Government will hold a concert in Citizen Square at 7 pm this Saturday (9).


In order to reduce carbon emissions, Taichung City Government launched the “Taichung Traffic Jam Bus” project, from 7am to 9am and 5pm to 7pm from Monday to Friday. The fee is free for holders of a Taiwan Tung prepaid bus card. In addition, in order to cultivate potential commuters of the Mass Transit System, Taichung City Government also launched 7 transit bus routes with a few stops on key blocks. Passengers can ride for fee with a Taiwan Tung prepaid card or Easy card.


To take care of the of elderly, sick, female, child and disabled bus riders, Taichung City Government procured the first non-step bus to replace the retired bus. In the future, Taichung City Government will purchase more non-step buses to bring passengers more humane, friendly and barrier free bus services.


In order to encourage Taichung City Citizens to take the bus, Taichung City Government provides prizes for bike riders and car drivers. The daily prizes include a Merida foldable bike��"Freeway, ETC and Snoopy Easy card and T-shirts courtesy of Volvo, and free hamburgers sponsored by McDonalds. If you take the bus more often, you will have more chances to win a prize.


The free bus service will save you big fuel expenses and parking fees. Let’s take the bus and welcome the era of the Mass Transit System.
