The only light display of its kind in a baseball Stadium in Taiwan was launched in Taichung City by Mayor Jason Hu. Accompanied by hails from the audience, the lights changed between four different displays for the baseball game. Mayor Hu said that the lights represented the creativity of Taichung and marked the creation of a major landmark in the city.

In order to enhance the atmosphere of the stadium and the game, the Taichung City Government made use of the first prize funds from the national business recruitment contest to improve the lighting of the Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium.

According to the Taichung Department of Construction, the focus of the lighting design is to highlight the shape of the trusses and the wave shaped roof with LED lights. The lights change color according the game, to bring out the emotion of the audience. Also, the lighting installed in the trusses can be utilized at various events where changing colors are needed to enhance the mood.

During the holidays and special festivals or events, the lighting will change on the 2nd floor and the walls along the slopes of the stadium. By using the various lighting designs, the stadium will have a different appearance to heat up the game and make the stadium more beautiful. Due to the height of the trusses (48m for the highest) the lighting will make the stadium a special landmark in Taichung particularly at night.
