2012 Taichung Comic Festival is targeted at Taichung comic and animation lovers. Classic animation will be featured on July 7 and 8 at Dadun Cultural Center and Tun Area Art and Cultural Center, with films to be shown including "Summer Wars", "The Sky Crawlers", "Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below", and "Piano Forest".
The Comic Convention will take place on July 14 and 15 on the first floor of the new Taichung City Hall. Convention events include: Taiwan's Heart Illustration Exhibition, mostly exhibiting works from outstanding central Taiwan artists as well as other Taiwanese and international artists; Comic and Animation Models, showcasing several kinds of classic models; a Reading Area, displaying many famous Taiwanese and international comic books, novels, and magazines for reading; Comic Fan Forums, inviting Chen Chong-wei to talk about the magic power of comic books; Taiwan Comic Books History Gallery, which will take visitors into the magic world of comic books and animation. There will also be book signings, a "cosplay" photography contest, Japanese voice actors talk show and other fascinating events.
