Waste furniture transport service kicks off

As the Lunar New Year approaches, almost every household is having a year-end clean-up campaign. The most troublesome problem that our citizens face is how to deal withthe large obsoletefurniture or miscellaneous objects. To help citizens remove them, the Environmental Protection Bureau of Taichung City Government has kicked off transport service now. The schedule this year is a little earlier than that in the previous years.
Liu Bang-yu (劉邦裕), Director-general of Environmental Protection Bureau, said that the transport service of large waste furniture has already begun; people in need can send in their application from now until February 8, 2013 (the day before Lunar New Year’s Eve); meanwhile, effective from January 23, the transport services of waste furniture will be also provided every Wednesday and Sunday as usual; people are urged to make best use of this regular service to avoid “rush hours” on the New Year's Eve; and everyone is also urged to obey the law in the disposal of waste and work together to maintain the city clean.
Environmental Protection Bureau of Taichung City Government said that the amount of waste is estimated to reach itspeak onFebruary 9, 2013(New Year's Eve) and the EPB has asked all its cleansing teams not to take a breakor leave during this period of time but gear up to deal with the garbage surge before the Lunar New Year. The EPB has also called upon our citizens not to clean up their homes at the last minutes, sothatthe Environmental Protection Bureau won’t add up too much workload and delay its service to you.
