The MRT Wurih-Wenxin-Beitun Line (Green Line) has commenced its main construction since May 1, 2013.Every construction project along the Green Line will last for at least six months, during which time the house tax rates for those affected houses will be adjusted down, said the Local Tax Bureau of Taichung City Government.
Local Tax Bureau explained that the MRT Wurih-Wenxin-Beitun Line has already started its main track construction projects and quite a few road sections have been blocked by fences for a period of at least six months. Local Tax Bureau will take the initiative to adjust down the house tax rates for those houses in the neighborhood of construction sites, depending on whether the road is closed and how seriously the traffic conditions are affected.
With regards to the adjustment standards, Local Tax Bureau pointed out that the houses located in an area where traffic is completely blocked out by the MRT route construction will be given a cut of house tax rates by 30% for the first floor and 20% for any floor on and/or above the 2nd floor and any underground floors. For those houses near the construction site and using the blocked road as a main path way will be given a cut on house tax rate by 10%.For those houses located on the road that is not entirely closed for traffic, the cut of house tax rates will be 20% for the first floor and 10% for the floor on and/or above the 2nd floor and any basement floors. All the adjustment shall be made according to the actual construction time (in terms of days and months).
