Taichung Social Affairs Bureau held Diamond Wedding Ceremony on November 3rd, inviting all senior couples and Taichung City Mayor Hu took photos for remembrance. A coupled aged 92 living in Shalu District, called Chen Zhi-Zhen (陳植珍) and Chen Tong-Chiao (陳童教), have been married for 72 years and their eldest daughter is 71 years old. The family happily had their photograph taken with Mayor Hu and all the audience were touched by their affection.

　　This “Love You Forever: Diamond and Platinum Wedding Ceremony” was held in Nan Shan Education & Training Center in Wuri District. Local Farmers’ Association performed an ancient ceremony; the cultural and recreational performance delighted all the grandpas and grandmas at the show. In addition, famous Taiwanese singer Wang Rui-Xia (王瑞霞) and other bands were invited to the ceremony, making the atmosphere very lively.

　　Mayor Hu, dressed elegantly in a suit, had his photograph taken with every couple in their diamond and platinum wedding ceremony and their family members. Mayor Hu expressed his kind regards and wished everyone health and happiness.

　　Grandpa and Grandma Chen living in Shalu District attended this ceremony with their children and grandchildren. Grandma Chen had suffered a stroke two decades earlier and was taken care of by Grandpa Chen in person. Grandma started to move with the support of a wheelchair two years ago; their children were worried Grandpa would be too exhausted and hired a nurse to look after them both. Their eldest daughter Yu-Chan (玉蟾) said that the couple had had a great relationship and never fought with each other; her greatest wish was for them to be healthy forever.

　　The Director of Social Affairs Bureau Wang Xiu-Yen (王秀燕)indicated that there were 381 couples attending this Diamond and Platinum wedding celebrations; it was very precious and honorable, giving the society an educational lesson about happy families.
