To encourage diligent social affairs employeesto develop social affair services, the Social Affairs Bureau of the city government organized the “Award Ceremony for Outstanding Social Affairs Department Employees at Monceour in Beitun District this morning (November 5th). Mayor Jason Hu distributed awards to 90 outstanding employees and 49 outstanding units.

　　Mayor Jason Hu expressed that he highly valued this award ceremony because the majority of the people on the award list were officers of neighborhoods and many hardworking employees of city government. It wasreally meaningful to see him come to thank all of the social affairs employees.

　　Mayor Jason Hu also mentioned that he was invited to deliver the speech regarding communication, image and how to deal with media at the Control Yuan yesterday.However, he definitely does not covet the seat of the minister and preferred to stay in Taichung to fight together with his people. He said that he declined other invitations in order to attend this event. All those in attendance gave a big round of applause to Mayor Jason Hu.

　　According to the Social Affairs Bureau, the employees rewarded most are colleagues who deal with people face by face. They enthusiastically assist people to get timely services and help. Among them, Mrs. Wang, Yue-Chaio, who has assisted numerous cases,has been a social worker for over 38 years, and is highly valued by all circles, was honored with the “senior service dedication award”. Mrs. Wang said that she had been frustrated with the job at times, buther strong sense of purpose to help each case get proper care and recover normal liveshas always supported her to keep her job.

　　Meanwhile, the Social Affairs Bureau also determined 49 outstanding units through the appraisal of the appointed Social Welfare Service. Director Wang, Show-Yan expressed that people can get more diversified services through the cooperation between government and private agencies during the time of multiple welfares. In the meantime, the government supervises the appraisals of appointed agencies and groups every year to ensure that they are providing100% service quality.
