Taichung City Government, Lianjiang County Government, Kinmen County Land Administration Bureau, and Penghu County Government signed a cooperation agreement on December 23, 2013 to start the “Across the Strait e-Land Administration System” on January 2, 2014. This electrification on land administrative affairs makes it possible for people to apply for land registration and survey for boundary verification across the above-mentioned cities and counties. Nantou County Government has also joined the ranks of these inter-regional services on the same day.

The Land Administration Bureau of Taichung City Government said that in the past, people should go to the land office by which their land is administered to apply for land registration and survey for boundary verification, but now, by using the self-developed online system, people can access such services for their real-estate located in Taichung City, Penghu County, Kinmen County, Lianjiang County, and Nantou County at any land office nearest to them. No longer need they take airplane or ship back and forth across the Taiwan Strait. This online system helps cut transportation costs and travel time for people a great deal.

After application, people can also make inquiry through this online system to learn how their cases are processed, thus helping not only reduce human negligence and postal delivery time and costs but also save paper use.
