2015 Daya Wheat Wave Season

The annual Daya Wheat Wave Season is here. To celebrate it together with the arrival of Year of the Goat, the organizers have made three large kites and hundreds of small colored kites, all of which will be set off in the wheat fields in front of Baoxing Palace (寶興宮) on March 7. The spectacular view of flying kites and waving wheat is expected to impress everyone on the scene. Jiang Hui-wen (江惠雯), Chief of Daya District, sincerely invites people from all over Taiwan to make a unique "light travel on wheat fields."

The Wheat Wave Season this year will feature the aerial photography of "I Love DAYA" in which wheat fields are the “drawing paper" painted with colorful cloth kites, floating-carp art installations, and checkpoint games. You and your entire family are welcomed to “swim” on the wheat fields, take a close look of the wheat village, and taste Daya’s three precious grains (namely wheat, buckwheat, and red barley) and agricultural specialties from various districts.

Furthermore, a series of activities will be arranged on the wheat fields, such as "floating carp kite" installation art wall, wheat-field mazes, checkpoint games, wheat blessing bags, navigation of wheat fields, and agricultural products exhibited by District Farmers' Associations. Free shuttle bus services will be offered during the Wheat Wave Season in February to March. People across the country are welcomed to experience the unique cultural fun in wheat village of Daya.
