Taichung City Open-Air Concert Series has entered its 12th year. The event this year starts 19:30 every Friday or Saturday during the period between July 3 and August 28. A total of 27 outdoor concerts will be held each at one of the 27 administrative districts in Taichung City. Invited to perform this year are 120 troupes and individuals, of which 90 troupes are from Taichung. Performance contents range from traditional Chinese music to Western music and from classical music to pop music. It is considered a summer music feast for family members.

The outdoor concert to be held in Daya District is scheduled at the Daya Park at 19:30 on July 17 (Friday). Performers include famous Taiwanese singer Huang Xi-tian (黃西田), Hotshot Cello Choir (名加大提琴合奏團), Xiao Ping Rock & Roll (小品搖滾團), Sakeshi Ensemble(薩克士樂坊), and many other highly acclaimed musical troupes from Daya District. It will be a combination of classic folk music, classical music, and light rock and roll. Everyone, young and old, is welcome to join this concert and enjoy different types of music at one shot.

The Open-Air Concert Series has always attracted large crowds in each event held in the past 11 years. For this year, contents will cover performances from buskers, Taiwanese folk singers, classic song singers, jazz musicians, famous pop singers, symphony troupers, and Hakka musicians, said the Cultural Affairs Bureau.
