Visitors to Xinshe Sea of Flowers Urged to Take Free Shuttle Buses

Taichung Xinshe Sea of Flowers is being held from November 7 onwards. Taichung City Government has arranged 4 routes of shuttle buses and 15 bus routes to the venue. Wang Yi-chuan (王義川), Director-general of Transportation Bureau said, “It takes at least 90 minutes to go from Daken to Xinshe because County Road #129 is currently under construction, but it takes only 40 minutes to go from Dongshi by shuttle bus. Therefore, I would like to urge the public to take shuttle bus instead of driving."

On November 3, the Transportation Bureau held a briefing at the Taiwan Boulevard Municipal Building to explain the traffic control measures for the Xinshe Sea of Flowers and International Flower Carpet Festival. Director-general Wang said, “You can get to the Xinshe Sea of Flowers from either Dongshan Road in Daken or Dongshi. There were always traffic congestions on Dongshan Road in Daken in the previous years. Therefore, we provide free shuttle bus services this year and encourage people to go via Dongshi. You can enjoy Hakka cuisines at Dongshi first and then move on to the flora exhibition.

"Take the free shuttle buses. Do not drive. During the holidays, we will arrange free shuttle bus services at 4 locations, namely, Dongshi, Fengyuan, Taiyuan and Yingmu Huadao. All the routes will operate between 8:00 and 16:00 on holidays, every 20 minutes per bus but only the Taiyuan route will operate on weekdays (Monday to Friday), every 30 minutes per bus,” added Director-general Wang.

In addition to free shuttle bus services, there are also 15 bus routes to Xinshe, namely #31, #91, #263, #264, #265, #266, #270, #271, #272, #273, #275, #276, #277, #278 and #279. Taking a bus, you will enjoy not only the 10 km free bus ride but also priority right of way on exclusive lanes. You will be free from any traffic control measure by bus.
