A. Qualifications and requirements for voluntary fire fighters:
According to the “Regulations for the Organization Procedure, Training Program, Drill and Service of the Voluntary Fire Fighters” issued by the Ministry of the Interior:
1. At least 20 years old, mentally and physically healthy national citizens.
2. Registered and live in the area, not a member of other voluntary fire fighter teams or civil defense organizations.
3. Never served a prison sentence or confirmed disciplinary education, but criminal negligence is not subject to this restriction.
B. Educational training:
1. Trainings for voluntary fire fighters include basic training, professional training, management training, regular training and other training.
2. Basic training is organized by the Fire Department; all new recruits will receive a 48-hour training together.
3. A 24-hour professional training will be offered by the Fire Department after the basic training based on the properties of teams and duties.
4. Senior management training will be organized by the National Fire Agency, Ministry of the Interior and elementary along with basic management trainings will be held by the Fire Department.
5. Regular training will be held by the Fire Department. More than 24 hours of intensive trainings will be offered during the year by station, squadron or battalion.
6. Other trainings will be offered by National Fire Agency, Ministry of the Interior or the Fire Department depending on needs to promote firefighting business and seminars and campaigns.
