“Human Condition VI” series brought to you on stage again in Taichung by Greenray Theatre Company

“Human Condition VI - Master of the Future” was directed and produced by Artistic Director Wu Nian-Chen, and has earned an ovation from audiences ever since its debut in 2014 due to the touchy theme of the play. Now it comes back to stage again after three years of disappearance. The first performance for this series will be presented at the stage away from Taipei. The venue will be Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall in Taichung City and the date is April 14~15. Taichung Mayor Lin Chia-Lung showed his solid support by purchasing tickets in advance. The public is encouraged to take this opportunity to share the joy and break the box office record in Taichung.

In addition to the previous performers of “Human Condition VI - Master of the Future”, including Ko Yi-Cheng, Luo Pei-An, Wu Shih-Wei, Wu Ting-Chien, and Chang Ching-Chi, new members such as Chu Deh-Kang, Huang Ti-Yang, Teng Jiu-Yun and Chiu Chun-Ru will also be on stage. Artistic Director Wu Nian-Chen will also perform on stage in person. The story of the play depicts the social background filled with inflation in housing and consumer prices except for the salaries. This is indeed a reflection of the hard lives of people and how they tackle all their problems. Every detail of the play is touchy.

Greenray Theatre Company held a press conference at Taichung Burst With Joy(大花朵朵主題餐廳) on the 28th . Artistic Director Wu Nian-Chen, Company Director Luo Pei-An and actors Chu Deh-Kang were present for promoting the event and sharing the episodes of the story and insights from the performance. The Director of the Information Department with the Taichung City Government attended the press conference for conveying blessings from Mayor Lin Chia-Lung and expressing their gratitude for the performance in Taichung so that the residents there can have the opportunity to share the joy of such a marvelous play. Mayor Lin Chia-Lung showed his solid support by purchasing tickets in advance. The public is encouraged to take this opportunity to share the joy and break the box office record in Taichung. Director Lin Wen-Chin of Da Dun Cultural Center also attended the press conference as a sign of support.

When “Human Condition VI - Master of the Future” kicked off its debut in 2014, all 37 performances in the series were sold out and the play has attracted almost 40,000 audience members. The tickets for the five performances of the play in Taichung had been sold out well in advance. This is indeed historic and an honor. The performance for this season started in Taichung to thank the warm support of the friends there. This is the very first time that Greenray Theatre Company arranged the first performance at a place outside Taipei, said Company Director Luo Pei-An of Greenray Theatre Company.

When “Human Condition VI” was performed at Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall of Taichung in 2014, Greenray Theatre Company had received replies from 560 respondents out of 1,400 audience members in the questionnaire survey, a record high score. Most of the audience members expressed in the questionnaire that they did not feel alone, as the theme of the play implies that they are being understood and feel comforted. As an Artistic Director or Script Writer, this kind of feedback is worth everything, said Directors Wu Nian-Chen.

The theme of “Human Condition VI” is a mirror showing the generation of the 1970s and the 1980s are indeed not that well-off. In the past, where Taiwan was at the stage of rapid economic development and the entrance barrier to universities was high so that people could have a chance to change their fate if they could just study hard and work hard in business. Now, it will be extremely difficult to change you fate overnight. People of this generation have to face competition worldwide. They also have to withstand the pressure from parents and children in living. This play allows the parents to understand the hardship of their children and also the younger generation that they are still being cared for. The debut of this season is in Taichung, a city of good weather. They feel happy to be here, Wu Nian-Chen went on.

The “Human Conditions” series of Greenray Theatre Company has been on stage for more than 200 instances and the tickets for each performance were sold out well in advance. The ticketing for the “Human Condition VI” in 2014 in Taichung was even a lighting deal. After three years of disappearance, they return again this time and gave the debut in Taichung to the expectation of Taichung residents, said Director Chuo of Information Department at Taichung City Government. When “Human Condition II” was on stage 10 years ago, it really was a predestined mingle between myself and Artistic Director Wu Nian-Chen, said Chu Deh-Kang, an actor of the play. His script really was a treasure for healing with “Human Condition VI” in particular, which will give you a sense of vigor after watching. The play depicts the nuts and bolts of the daily lives of the persons in the streets, such as the family lives and the way family members treating one another. All these were characterized in the play that compelled people to observe and look around the people that needs more care.

The debut of the “Human Condition VI – Master of the Future” series for this season was launched at Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall in Taichung on April 14~15. Performances will be continued in Tainan Cultural Center, Chupei Performance Hall at Hsinchu County, and finally back to Taipei from May 26~June 4 at The Metropolitan Hall. It was followed by the performances at Art-Garden of Kaohsiung Cultural Center.
