In promoting the use of e-tickets to access parking lots, Transportation Bureau of Taichung City has launched the second wave of parking concessions starting from May 1 to August 31 this year. By accessing 27 parking lots in Taichung City using e-tickets such as EasyCard or iPASS, motorists can enjoy 20% off parking tariff, so please take advantage of this special offer.

According to Director-general Yi-chuan Wang, in order to facilitate the public’s motoring convenience and respond to the trend of “cashless transactions” in the modern society, the city government has continue to promote the use of electronic currencies, and “smart parking” is one of the integral elements of a smart city. Transportation Bureau intends to complete 79 public parking lot e-ticketing systems throughout the city by the end of this year, where the public will be able to access parking lots with just one card and ridding them off the hassle of carrying loose change and losing the parking ticket. Moreover, the system also enhances the safety and speed at which vehicles are entering and exiting parking lots, in turn maximizing convenience.

Starting May 1, motorists accessing the following 23 parking lots with EasyCard or iPASS will enjoy 20% off (vehicles must exit the parking lots during the promotion period and the fee must be paid in order to enjoy the discount): Nanjing, Gancheng Parking Lot in East Dist., Fuhou St. Underground Parking Lot in West Dist., Jianguobei Parking Lot in South Dist., Shanxi Parking Lot in North Dist., Taichung City Government Taiwan Boulevard Civic Center Underground Parking Lot on Taiwan Boulevard, New Taichung City Park Underground Parking Lot, Huilai/Chaoma/Xiehe/Fushun/Qiugonggu/Dadun Parking Lot in Xitun Dist., Nan-Tun Elementary School Underground Parking Lot and Fengle Parking Lot in Nantun Dist., Taichung Folklore Park Underground Parking Lot and Tianjin/Songzhu Parking Lot in Beitun Dist., Taichung City Government Yangming Civic Center Underground Parking Lot in Fengyuan Dist., Huludun Ditch/Yuying Rd. Parking Lot, Tianxin Rd. Parking Lot and Zhongyang Rd. Parking Lot.

Furthermore, 4 additional parking lots will be added in June 1, including: Lide Parking Lot in East Dist., Sankuaicuo, Xincuo and Wenxin Forest Park Parking Lot, bringing the total to 27 parking lots dispersed throughout the city.
