Tax arrears will be executed, if taxpayers have encountered difficulties in pay their taxes, application can be made to the branch administrative enforcement agency for payment in installments

According to Local Tax Bureau, Taichung City Government, if various taxes are still in arrears after the deadline, a fine of 1% per 2 days will be imposed, maximum 15%. If it is still not paid 30 days after the deadline, tax arrears will be forwarded to various branch administrative enforcement agencies of Administrative Enforcement Agency, Ministry of Justice for execution. If taxpayers are experiencing financial difficulties and are unable to pay tax arrears at once, they may file an application to the branch administrative enforcement agency for payment in installments in order to prevent execution against their properties.
Local Tax Bureau indicates that after receiving approval for installment payment, taxpayers should make payments accordingly before the deadlines. If any installment is not paid or if their checks are bounced, the branch administrative enforcement agency will immediately repeal the approval order for installment payment and conduct execution against the taxpayers’ properties. The bureau also reminds the public that when receiving tax bill from taxing authorities, it is imperative to pay attention to the payment deadline and pay accordingly in order to prevent the hassle of incurring fines and being forwarded to branch administrative enforcement agency for execution.
