Taichung is a center for the precision machinery industry, of which Victor Taichung is a leading company. Mayor Lin led a team to visit Victor Taichung’s French branch on June 20, holding an exchange on smart machinery. Mayor Lin stated Victor Taichung was “the light of Taichung!” Through Victor Taichung’s expansion into overseas markets, it has also raised the world’s awareness of the city. Lin hopes that Victor Taichung will continue to work hard, and the city government will work to attract companies and investors, helping local industries reach international markets, and showing the world the industrial power of Taichung.

On June 20, Lin led a group to Victor Taiwan’s French branch, located in Ferrieres-en-Brie, and spoke about smart machinery and the development of industrial parks with Victor Taiwan’s CEO Huang Minghe, general manager Cai Guotai, and Ferrieres-en-Brie Mayor Mireille Munch. Afterwards, Lin also visited Victor Taiwan’s workshop in France to learn more about the practical applications of precision tools.

Victor Taichung was established in September, 1954 in Taichung, producing mainly CNC lathes, assorted processors, and plastic injection molding machines. The French branch was established in 2002, along with a distribution center. The company covers an area of approximately 5,000 square meters, and primarily produces computer lathes, processing center machines, and plastic injection molding machines.

“The light of Taichung!” Lin acknowledged Victor Taichung as a Taichung industrial brand, burning brightly on the international stage, and introducing the world to the city of Taichung. He hopes that Victor Taichung can continue to work hard for the Taiwanese precision machinery industry. The city government will continue to attract businesses and investors, and recruit top international machinery and aerospace companies to work with local Taichung machinery and aerospace companies, showing the world Taichung’s industrial power.

Mayor Lin welcomed industry 4.0. Victor Taichung is increasing investment in Taichung, and currently is in its second term in the Taichung Precision Industrial Park. There they have built a brand new smart factory, which he believes will become a model factory for the Taiwanese smart machinery industry. The city government will continue to introduce new innovative policies to support local industry, and allowing the Taichung precision industry to develop with smart technology.

Victor Taichung CEO Huang Minghe stated, the first time he went to Europe was in 1983 to attend the second annual European Machine Tool Show in Paris. Since then, he has garnered more than 30 years of experience in European markets. The road has been full of hardships. Years after the Taichung machine tool industry entered Europe, it gradually grew to shine. In addition, the central government and Taichung government have both worked hard to promote smart machinery, as well as connect with the aerospace industry. We believe Taichung industries will continue to develop strongly in the future.

The Economic Development Department stated that Taichung had more than 1,600 up, mid, and downstream manufacturers, of whom almost 90% are concentrated in the greater Taichung area, making Taichung an important location for machine tool manufacturing, and Victor Taichung is one of the top companies in Taichung.

After many years of development, Victor Taichung’s French branch is the chief distribution center for Europe, involved in the direct sale of the Victor Taichung brand. This brand is in the top 20 of all French companies by turnover. Currently, Victor Taichung sells to Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, the Nordics, Spain, England, and Turkey.

The Economic Development Department stated, the central government regards Taichung as the smart machinery capital. The Office of Smart Machinery Development was formally established on February 7 of this year in Taichung. In addition to hiring local academic representatives as consultants, the government also sent employees to work with the central government in helping Taichung’s precision machinery industry to develop with smart technology. In the future, the government will continue to recruit and attract top international machinery and aerospace companies to come to Taichung and work with local machinery and aerospace companies.
