“Welcome to Taichung for the most beautiful flower seeing experience!” Taichung City in 2018 will host the World Flora Exposition. The one-minute image video was launched on the 28th on the Fanpage of Taichung World Flora Exposition on Facebook. Directed by Sean Chuang and created by Wu Nien-jen, this video shows the Expo from the perspective of local growers. The video was highly praised and online users said each variety of flowers is amazingly beautiful and look forward to the Expo. Some also encouraged to “let the world to see a fascinating 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition.

“To show the world the most beautiful flowers grew in Taichung!” said by three local growers interviewed, Zhang Ci-min, Lin Jiang-kai, and Liao Bing-hong. From their caring and nourishing with full attention and efforts, we witness their love and passion to flowers. When the Expo was mentioned, one can see their big smiles and they always emphasize that “for this Expo, we need to work more diligently” and “this is Taichung’s first world flora expo and we need to amaze all visitors.” Their passion cannot be ignored.

According to Information Bureau of Taichung City, the film was directed by Sean Chuang and created by Wu Nien-jen. In the beginning of the filming, Mr. Wu Nien-jen suggested to produce a film of flower growers because the floral industry in Taiwan laid its world’s leading position because of these continuously hard working farmers and they are indeed the biggest support for Taichung to organize this Expo and to show the most beautiful flowers grown in Taiwan to the world.

Living in Sinshe and born in 1983, Mr. Liao Bing-hong, one of the leading characters in the video, at a young age, successfully grew dancing-doll orchids. He was also a leading farmer of the “young farmer program.” He talked about that he was a non-major and in particular, put his efforts on the acquisition of agricultural knowledge. After introducing technological equipment, his home dancing-doll orchid growing has been transformed into modern cultivation with monthly stable volume and quality to respond to market demands.

In terms of the expo, he said Taichung, an agricultural city, plants the largest area of dancing-doll orchids in Taiwan with not only the highest volume but also the most stable quality. He is always a big supporter of Taichung World Flower Expo to showcase exceptional dancing-doll orchids in Taichung.

Zhang Ci-min from Houli mentioned that he has been cultivating flowers for more than three decades, mainly gayfeathers and chrysanthemums. He puts emphasis on flower quality management and comes to the farm to care for each of his flower. He wants to deliver consumers flowers with the exceptional quality. He hopes that through this Expo, more people will get to know Houli and local development can be facilitated. Then more people will see those beautiful flowers of Taichung.

The farmer, Mr. Lin Jiang-kai, said he has been growing flowers for more than 20 years, mainly Phalaenopsis flowers. Taiwan, at the same time, has been often struck by typhoons causing flooding or damaging equipment. During the recovery, there were hardships. It is expected that flowers grown by diligent farmers in Taichung can be marketed to the world and to increase Taichung’s international visibility.
