There’s no deed tax on inheriting a house

(Taichung news) The Local Tax Bureau of Taichung City indicated that a citizen made inquiry that whether a deed tax should be reported on inheriting a house. The Bureau explained that for those who get a house by purchasing, inheriting, swapping, gifting, division or occupying, they should report the deed tax; however, there is no deed tax on inheriting a house.

The Bureau gave the further explanation that the citizens can summit the application enclosed with the certificate of house ownership for transferring the taxpayer of the house after the registration of inheriting a house at the Land Office; if the inherited house is not registered, those documents including the genealogical list of inheritance, the division of inherited property, the certificate of payment (exemption) of inheritance tax and the copies of current household registers of inheritors should be enclosed when applying for transferring the taxpayer of the house.

If any citizens have other taxation questions related to house, please contact with the Bureau by the free service phone number at 0800-086969, the agent will provide you good service and answers.
