Mayor Lin Left for Singapore Today to Facilitate Industrial Exchange between Taiwan and Singapore

To improve the exchange between Taichung and Singapore, Mayor of Taichung City Lin Chia-lung led the delegation to Singapore today (January 17) to attend the 14th Joint Meeting between Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) and Singapore Business Federation (SBF). Mayor Lin will also visit the YCH Supply Chain City, Dassault Systemes Singapore Pte. Ltd., Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd., and Seletar Aerospace Park and sign an MOU with the Singapore Institute of Standards & Industrial Research and Microsoft. The purpose of this visit is to share opinions on smart logistics, smart city, and aerospace and introduce the industrial planning and business opportunities in Taichung City.

Taichung City Government indicated that Taichung and Singapore shared the similar geographical environment and cultural conditions. In 2016, Mayor Lin led the delegation to Singapore to share opinions on economics and trade, observe the municipal administration, and promote the bilateral meetings held on a regular basis. Vice Chairman of SBF Fu Chun-an also visited Taichung City. Mayor Lin left for Singapore today and will attend the 14th Joint Meeting between Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) and Singapore Business Federation (SBF) held on January 19, 2018 to introduce the industrial planning and strengths and business opportunities in Taichung City in the hope of achieving mutual prosperity.

Taichung City Government indicated that Mayor Lin will also visit the YCH Supply Chain City, Dassault Systemes Singapore Pte. Ltd., Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd., and Seletar Aerospace Park and sign an MOU with the Singapore Institute of Standards & Industrial Research and Microsoft to have understanding of industrial development, expand the investment and cooperation, and share experience in promoting the smart city (Taichung) and the smart country (Singapore).

Many industries, such as aerospace, information electronics, biopharmaceuticals, construction, finance, logistics and tourism, develop successfully in Singapore. In addition to well-developed manufacturing, the development of IoT and the smart city has driven the industrial transformation in Taichung; in addition, as a city of smart machinery and aerospace at the national level, Taichung City expects to find the focus on the development between Taiwan and Singapore through this visit.
