Mayor Chia-lung Lin visited South Korea a few days ago, he signed the sister city memorandum and Taichung Declaration with Changwon City. Also, he was invited to kick off the first pitch for the Korean Professional Baseball game and promoted Taichung World Flora Expo heavily. Flora Expo mascot,「Love」and「Life」accompanied the group to go abroad for the first time and had many warm greetings from the domestic and international tourists and requested for group photos at the Taoyuan International Airport before boarding. At the home ground of Dinosaur team during Korean Professional Baseball game, they danced with the other two mascots of the baseball team and won a lot of cheers from the audience. The first overseas show of Leopard cat family won a big success of cheers.

The officer of Information Bureau, Taichung City Government, said, the mascot of Taichung World Flora Expo,「Leopard cat family」are very welcome everywhere after formally introduced to the general public with high popularity. The family members,「Love」and「Life」went abroad for the first time to promote the Flora Expo and won high popularity at the home ground of Dinosaur team during Korean Professional Baseball game. It’s reflecting how much Taichung Flora Expo would like to obtain the international attentions and anticipate many international tourists visiting Taichung by this opportunity.

「Leopard cat family」owns their Facebook as「Leopard cat family—Love & Life」which recording every detail of Leopard cat family’s daily lives. The officer of Information Bureau also mentioned, this visit to South Korea for the introduction of「Love」and「Life」we’re sharing to everyone to let the fans of 「Leopard cat family」can see what the family did as they were with them aside. Before starting,「Love」and「Life」showed up at Taoyuan International Airport, their cute appearances attracted a lot of the domestic and international tourists to request for group photos with their lovely faces. These mascots are super popular among people.

「Love」,「Life」and the team led by Mayor Lin to arrive in Changwon City, South Korea. They were invited to have a promotional activity at the Korean Professional Baseball game and introduced Taichung Flora Expo to the audience of the game with their passions and cheers. All the audience were invited to visit Taichung then. In the beginning of the game, 「Love」and「Life」gave a good performance with NC dinosaur team mascots, 「Dandi Tyrannosaurus rex」and 「Sseri Brachiosaurus」with the theme song of Leopard cat family and cheering song of the NC Dinosaur team as the background music. They danced and swung their bodies as a teamwork in good harmonies to promote Taichung Flora Expo hard. Also, they worked very hard to cheer for the starting pitcher, Wei-Chung Wang, many of the audience on site were happy and took the photos with their cellphones under the lively atmosphere.

The officer of Information Bureau mentioned,「Love」and「Life」went for the promotion of the Flora Expo with「perfect preparation」. Love has announced there would be one week of secret special training for them on Facebook. Led by the Chinatrust team mascot, Sean, and coached by the popular baseball players, Honchen Wang and Minghong Wu, Life learned very hard about how to pitch and hoped to show his good performance of playing baseball though he fell frequently; however, Love learned fast and pitched very well right away. Meanwhile, they were trained for cheering intensively so they could successfully give a great performance at the field of Korean Professional Baseball game.

Originally, Taichung World Flora Expo only planned one exhibition area at Houli District but Mayor Lin decided to shrink Houli exhibition area after the trails of the Leopard cats found there and move part of the exhibitions to Waipu and Fengyuan as the substitutes for the conservation of Leopard cat habitats. Then the Leopard cat was selected as the mascot of the Flora Expo because this reason. The Houli horse ranch was remodeled with the opportunity to be the exhibition area of the Flora Expo so horse was used as the one of mascots as well.
