An application to draft a new urban plan has been submitted. The objectives are: to prevent unrestrained future development around the Taichung site of the CTSC from impacting the overall development and landscape, to ensure consistency in the urban plan, and to deal with construction bans and limitations in the surrounding areas. The MOI Regional Plan Committee has approved the proposal in principle during Session 226 on Mar. 6, 2008, and the MOI has approved the drafting of the Special CTSP District Plan on May 9, 2008 (Notice Tai-Nei-Ying-Zi No. 0970073703).
