Habitual Thief Caught for Stealing at an Elementary School Female Teachers’ Dormitory

Suspect Chen, released from prison in August, 2014, was caught again for stealing underwear, bicycles, foods, daily necessities and other belongings at a female teachers’ dormitory of Wu Shi Branch School in Heping District on the night of April 30th.

At 13:00, May 1st, a female teacher surnamed Chen returned to her dormitory and found a number of items stolen. She called the police immediately. Sergeant Wu and Officer Lin of Shuangqi Police Station, Heping Precinct came to the campus to review the monitors and found it was suspect Chen, a habitual thief released from prison on August 9th, 2014, who stole the things at 23:30 on April 30th. The police caught suspect Chen later at Wupo Temple on Section 2, Tungqi Road. Chen admitted the crime and told the police that he had hidden the stolen goods (including bicycles, female underwear, blankets, fans and so on) at 2 places, namely his own rented room on Da-an-gong Road in Dajia District and his wife’s ancestral house on Nanbei 4th Road in Dajia District. Suspect Chen was charged of larceny and transferred to Taichung District Prosecutors Office for further investigation.

Lin Wen-Kuei, Director of Heping Precinct, said to send more police officers to patrol the campuses and their surroundings to keep gangsters from breaking into the schools again.
