As the Children’s Day is approaching, Taichung City Government will conduct a series of activities with the theme of「Young flora childhood and Power without limit」 from 1st April to 30th April. Many leisure and entertaining area, natural places in Taichung will be provided for free or with discounted rate for life experiences by doing. Parents can bring their children to come and enjoy their own experiences together. The students from remote rural area will be subsidized to visit National Museum of Natural Science, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts and National Taichung Theater etc. to participate in the life experience camps. Also, there will be a scaled-up event of model and healthful children recognition award ceremony and carnival with plenty of activities so the children would have a memorable and meaningful Children’s Day.

The Children’s Day serial activities will be incorporated with the elements Flora Expo to hold the life experience camps, science fun fair and model children recognition award ceremony this year. Today (21st) , the press conference was held at the city hall building on Taiwan Boulevard. Deputy Mayor Yi-ing Lin was present and accompanied by Director of Education Bureau, Fu-yen Peng. In addition, Taichung City Councilor, Hsu-jou Liu and many representatives of different companies attended the conference to kick off the activities for Children’s Day of 2018 celebrations.

Deputy Mayor Lin said, the City Government had conducted very well-recognized and successful life-experienced activities of Children’s Day last year so Education Bureau plans to align with News Bureau, Cultural Affairs Bureau, Social Affairs Bureau, Tourism and Travel Bureau and Economic Development Bureau etc. to conduct a series of interesting and meaningful cross-departmental activities this year. Meanwhile, there’ll be 44 excellent companies to join in the activities to maximize the spirits of Flora Expo GNP and make the whole grand Taichung area encompassed with the joys of Children’s Day from March to April.

Deputy Mayor Lin indicated there are many scaled-up activities like the model and healthful children recognition award ceremony and carnival so the children would like to learn better with the encouragement. Children will learn how to be independent and grow their moral characters beyond the studies in the schools through the special experiences collected from the diverse events of Children’s Day.

The officers of Education Bureau said, the serial activities of this Children’s Day are including 3 key themes, 「Young flora lives for intellectual traveling」, 「Young flora grace for truth and divine」and「Young flora morals for joys with virtue」. Many leisure and entertaining area, natural places in Taichung City will be provided for free or with discounted rate for life experiences by doing from 1st April to 30th April. Then the parents can bring their children to come and enjoy their own experiences together.

Moreover, Education Bureau will subsidize the students from remote rural area to visit National Museum of Natural Science, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, National Taichung Theater, outdoor places and schools with special features etc. to participate in the life experience camps. Also, the model and healthful children recognition award ceremony and carnival will be rolled out all over around the elementary schools in Taichung City. Another scaled-up event of model and healthful children recognition award ceremony and carnival will be conducted in the Bay Area Art Center on 29th March. There will be a lot of interesting levels of game to let students play scientific games with their creativities so they can fully enjoy the Children’s Day.

The officers of Education Bureau mentioned that the City Government has conducted the activities for cub scout alliance of the elementary schools to cultivate the moral characters of children. There are all kinds of scout skill upgrading tests held to make more people know how the scouts implement their outdoor skills and the spirit of scouts of doing a favor for others every day. All these activities are planned to enhance and enrich the true meanings behind Children’s Day so the students will learn more about how to live and interact with the ecosystems and natural environment.
