Taichung has many local and international bank branches which offer personal banking services such as personal savings accounts, foreign currency exchange, money transfers, credit cards and travellers' checks. For newly-arrived foreigners, or those planning on conducting a lot of international transactions, international banks are considered an especially good option, with English-speaking staff and other advantages.
