Translated by Cara Steenstra

In an effort to promote mountain hiking amongst the people of Taichung, and to relieve the parking problem around mountain footpath No. 6, No.7 and No.8, the Taichung City Government has specially constructed mountain footpath No.9. The official opening ceremony is to be held on December 1 at 9am, at the Earthquake Theme Park Car park, and will be followed by mountain hiking activities. Any participant who completes the entire trail will be eligible for a lucky draw. There will also be an interesting and humorous entertainment performance.

Mountain footpath no.9 starts from the Earthquake Theme Car Park and stretches north, it then connects with mountain footpath No.6, No.7, and No.8. There are car parks on both sides of the starting point entrance so that hikers will no longer need to waste time looking for parking spaces. Footpath No.9 is a little over 1.7km long and between 3m to 4 m wide. One can see as far as the Earthquake Park, the Japanese Occupation Period Ammunition Warehouse, the Stage 11 Redevelopment Area, DaLi Stream, and BoZhu District Levy Collection Area; the scenery is green along the way.
