Ming De Neighborhood Cherry Blossom Carnival attracts crowds of admirers(2006-02-11)

The 2006 Taichung City North District Ming De Neighborhood Cherry Blossom Carnival began at 2pm on February 11th, and lasted till 6:30pm. This exciting event took place on TaiYuan Road's Cherry Blossom Pathway (TaiYuan Road and TaiYuan 4th Street). Taichung City Deputy Mayor Hsiao and City Council Vice Councilor Chen Tian-Wen and other VIPs were all present. Deputy Mayor Hsiao and Vice Councilor Chen both praised the beauty of the cherry blossoms. Many residents of the neighborhood also came along with the entire family to have a look at this rare occasion of cherry flowers blossoming.


During the event, Deputy Mayor Hsiao expressed that Ming De Neighborhood truly lives up to its name of Cherry Blossom Neighborhood. The cherry blossoms there were all so beautiful, and he joked that the cherry blossoms planted by the city government do not seem to thrive as well, so the city government team should come to Ming De Neighborhood and ask for a few tips. Deputy Mayor Hsiao also expressed that one of the aims of this event was to raise everyone's environmental awareness, so that the neighborhood will become more beautiful.
