There will be 13 current Taichung City Councilors leaving their offices soon, and on February 20, Taichung City Mayor Jason Hu presented them with honorary commemoration badges, to thank them for their services to the city government and community. Mayor Hu also hoped that they would continue to assist the city government in promoting their work. This is the first time in history that the Taichung City Government has presented city councilors with commemoration badges. Many high level officials from various city government departments were all present at the ceremony.

The office term of the 15th Taichung City Council will officially come to an end at the end of February. Amongst the city councilors, 13 of them will be leaving office. The city government organized special performance activities on February 20th in commemoration of this, with Mayor Hu presenting commemoration badges and certificates to these city councilors. As this ceremony was the first of its kind, these departing councilors truly felt the warmth of this gesture.
