The 16th Taichung City Council was established on March 1, with the Speaker and Deputy Speaker sworn in, as well as 46 councilors who were successfully elected. After a second round of voting, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker were elected, with Chang Hung-Nien and Chen Tian-Wen successfully retaining their seats as Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
