Mayor Hu pitched the first ball for the 17th game's season of the Chinese Professional Baseball League(2006-3-18)

The 17th game season of the Chinese Professional Baseball League commenced on March 18th in Taichung City. National Taichung Girls' Senior High School Band led the opening ceremony with a performance, and Taichung City Mayor Jason Hu asked all baseball fans to give a round of applause to thank the band for their excellent performance. He also hoped that the Macoto Cobras would have a good season. He hoped that the Sinon Bulls would not only win this game but also go on to win the overall championship again this year. Mayor Hu expressed that the Taichung International Baseball Stadium will be completed in August. The November Inter-Continental Baseball Games will be held in Taichung, and all baseball fans are welcomed to come watch. Mayor Hu then proceeded to pitch the first ball of the season, announcing the official star of the season.
