In order to promote English learning, the Taichung City government has organized a free family English learning. The English courses are held in 37 elementary, junior schools and community colleges.

According to the Education Bureau, the English learning courses will begin from the May to the July. The course will have a total of 24 hours class, and each class is expected to enroll 20 students. All families, such as two-generation and three-generation families, in the Taichung City are welcome to join the project. Disadvantage students and families, and minority nations are prior to be enrolled.

For the purpose of encouraging family learning, the free courses have been designed into day-class, night-class and holiday-class. 500$NT deposit will be collected when registering the class. The deposit will be refunded after finishing the class. Yet, one who absence more than 10 hours; the deposit cannot be refunded.
