On May 13, the Taichung Municipal Ren-ai Senior Citizens' Home held a special Mother's Day celebration activity. The wife of Taichung City Mayor, Ms. Shao Xia Ling was present to celebrate this special day with the senior citizens. All ladies were given a carnation as Mother's Day's gift. And to avoid any jealousy from the elderly gentlemen, Ms. Shao also wished them a happy Father's Day.

Taichung Municipal Ren-ai Senior Citizens' Home invited family members to come and celebrate Mother's Day together, they also prepared a huge cake, and invited the oldest female resident of the home, Ms. Lin Chen, who is 99 years old this year, to cut the cake along with Ms. Shao Xiao Ling and Mr. Zhang Guo Hui, Director of the Department of Social Affairs, announcing the beginning of that day's festivities. Taichung City Council Chairman Zhang Hong Nian and several other city councilors were also present to wish everyone a happy Mother's Day.

Ren-Ai Citizen's Home also organized a singing competition because of the senior citizens' love of singing. Many elderly ladies and gentlemen all signed up for the competition. As an encouragement, two winners were from chosen from each of the following categories: Most Popular, Best Stage Performance, Best Singing and Best Costume.
