Up to now, there is still 30% of the population in Taichung, who haven't had their ID cards changed. To avoid the busy flow into the family registration units by the end of the year, the Bureau of Social Affairs has launched a method to ease the workload starting now until the end of October.
For those who work for organizations, groups, schools, hospitals and companies, if the number of the people who haven't had their ID cards changed yet exceeds 20, they can contact the family registration units to arrange one of the staff to come over and handle the process at one go. Once the cards are done, the cards will be delivered back to them. The method applies to any family registration units as long as you are Taichung citizens.
There are about 810,000 people expected to have the ID cards changed. However, there are still 30% of the number, 243,000, haven't had theirs done.
