Datong doll exhibition from the early days, held in Taichung City government, is inviting the public to reminisce the old days (2006-10-16)

Taichung City government is holding an old Taiwanese exhibition for old handicrafts, collected by Mr. Wu Ming-Da. This exhibition includes phones, which are magnetic dialing, model 600 from the 1960s and the modern touch-tone ones. The long history Datong dolls, Sanyang dolls, sony dolls, TaiRer dolls and business dolls are also included in the exhibition, which will continue until November 10.

Old documentary items are also displayed here, such as the graduation certificate from the Japanese colonial era and the interesting picture and writing telegraph from the railway station in the early days. The newly renovated City government building carries itself in Baroque style and has become one of the popular wedding photo shooting sites. To make the best use of the place, city government cooperates with Taichung Folk Association to hold a series of exhibitions for ancient collected items in the old days. The public is encouraged to attend the event.

The event will last one year with eleven different theme exhibitions, such as 101 dogs, glass vases, Taiwanese ancient furniture, weighing equipment culture, bamboo weaving, veteran culture, coins, abacus and so on. Each exhibition lasts one month. You will find yourself smile while appreciating the exhibition.
