According to Taichung City Government, parking fees for off-street parking space will be waived during the long holiday of Chinese New Year, from Feb. 17th to Feb. 25th , covering off-street parking and city operated parking places for motorbikes and automobiles, such as City Hall Plaza Parking Lot, First-floor rear parking lot and underground second-floor parking lot of Second Office of City Government, ChongPing Parking Lot, YongXing Parking Lot, Plaza 8 Parking Lot, ChiLong Parking Lot, PingHe Parking Lot, LinShen Parking Lot, Huilai Parking Lot, Jinlung Parking Lot, Plaza & Parking 95 Parking Lot, Affiliated Parking Lot of WenShin Forest Park, Public 2-1 Temporary Parking Lot, and ChingWu Plaza Parking Lot.
The Department of Transportation proclaimed that public-owned and public operated DaCheng, TzuYou 1-Term, Dongxing, and NanKing parking towers, and FuHou St and Taichung Park underground parking lots would charge parking fees for 24 hours/per day. However, the Department also reiterated that drivers should line up for parking and maintaining parking order and smooth traffic flow without charging parking fees; anyone finding instances of false charging should dial 110 to report it.
