World Environment Day celebrated on stage at First Plaza! All people were urged to act against the filthy environment & to embrace green consumption (2007-06-02)

To achieve the goals of the “Clean Up Taiwan!” campaign promoted by EPA, the Environmental Protection Bureau planned to organize environmental volunteers and people in business circles to clean up their neighborhood and remove garbage that is lying around, such as pieces advertisement posters, trash and dog excrement, on roads, porches of vacant buildings, and roadsides in the expectation of reminding denizens about concerns over the surrounding environment by appealing to people to practice participation and cooperation.

In the event, green consumption was promoted to enhance people’s awareness of green labels and cognition of green consumption, to coordinate businesses qualified with green labels for enhancing green consumption, and to initiate the activity of ‘labels for gifts’ to remind denizens to create a clean living space oriented towards environmental protection.

In addition, associated with the “Clean Up Taiwan!” campaign, a Children’s Painting Competition was held by EPA (check the website http://www.epa.gov.tw). The Environmental Protection Bureau had the primary evaluation for the participants and expected parents’ involvement in the Event through children’s participations.

The Event was on stage from 3PM to 6 PM of June 2nd in Green Brook Way in front of First Plaza, and all participants had the opportunity to win awards, including a bike and Macdonald gift cards.
