Taiwan Corning Summer Music Concert held by Corning Display Technologies Ta iwan Co., Ltd. and controlled by Taipei Philharmonic Foundation for Culture and Education, will be on stage at 7:30 PM on August 1 (Wednesday) at Chunghsing Hall to invite people to enjoy Jazz music. Cotton Club Singers from Hungary will come to lead music lovers to the enthusiastic Jazz country, and the public is welcomed to ask for free tickets at the Cultural Affairs Bureau, limited 2 tickets per person.
Deputy Mayor Hsiao stated in the press conference on July 23 that Taiwan Corning wants to contribute to the society with deep caring, thus, organizes this summer music concert in Taichung City to root music, in addition to social and cultural contributions.
According to Deputy Mayor Hsiao, Taichung City is reputed with decent Jazz environment, including a series of Jazz banquets each August. This Concert is the warm-up event for the upcoming Jazz festivals.
Deputy General Manager Huang of Corning expressed that Corning used to play a significant role in the R&D and manufacturing of special glass, ceramic materials, electronic fibers, and TFT-LCD glass substrate during its 155-year of history, cooperated with Scientist Edison to develop the bulb, and founded factories in Southern Taiwan Science Park in 2000 and Central Taiwan Science Park in 2004, respectively, with investment of USD 25 billion in Taiwan.
Huang also expressed his gratitude toward the supports from the city government, Administration Bureau for Central Taiwan Science Park, and others who helped Corning’s construction in Central Taiwan Science Park, and Corning’s willingness to contribute back to the society and building a positive relationship with the local residents. This musical event will certain bring a cooling sensation in the hot summer days.
Cotton Club Singers from Hungary, skilled in Jazz, hit pop, Broadway music, and performed at the opening ceremony of 2000 Olympic Game in Sydney, will be invited to bring enthusiastic popular Jazz music, as well as some favorite songs of ABBA.
Citizens of Taichung are welcomed to ChungHsing Hall on August 1 to join the Jazz banquet, and those who are interested can ask for free tickets at the Cultural Affairs Bureau, starting from July 25 (Wednesday); limited to 2 tickets per person.
