Praying in Confucius’s Temple on Jan. 19th, thousands of students came for blessing(2008-01-19)

2008’s First Praying in Confucius’s Temple was held on Jan. 19th and students gathered to pray for smooth exams. The month is a critical time for some national exams and College Scholastic Ability Tests, and plenty of people flooded in to totally change the quiet atmosphere of Confucius’s Temple during most of the year. 

Examinees participating in the ceremony were granted blessing cards and award pens that were placed in front of Confucius’s statute for the past 3-days of praying. This is expected to help all participants write their exams smoothly.

The Ceremony was hosted by Director Mu of Department of Civil Affairs, accompanied by Secretary Liao of Taichung City Council, Division Chief Chen of Customs and Religion, and Director Lai of Confucius’s Temple Administration Office. Deputy Mayor Hsiao, and City Councilman Liu, ShiChao, Liu, KoLung, Hung, ChaHung came to the Ceremony to offer their felicitations to examinees and people in the Temple.
