Bocelli's voice flew in the air tonight. The sounds of heaven caught everyone’s heart(2008-04-19)

Italian singer Bocelli‘s concert started at 7pm tonight (4/19) at Intercontinental Baseball Stadium in Taichung City. Mayor Hu said this concert would be the only performance in Taiwan. He was happy to be able to invite Bocelli to Taichung City for the performance. The great voice of Bocelli would definitely enchant his fans. Ma Ying-Jiu, the president-to-be, Zeng Wu-Hui, the wife of former president Lee, and her daughter, and plenty of people from media and arts & culture fields all came to join the event together, and admire Bocelli’s performance.

Aside from the main focus, Bocelli, there were other great performances in tonight’s concert, such as: Soprano Maria Luigia Borsi, Baritone Gianfranco Montresor, Vocalist Heather Headley; The conductor was Marcello Rota, the chief conductor of the Czech National Symphony Orchestra; the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra and Taipei Philharmonic Chorus were the Orchestra and Chorus.

Performing recitals were all from works of Italian composers. Bocelli is particularly good at performing romantic Italian songs, such as: Ne' Lieti Calici」of Giuseppe Verdi‘s La Traviata, Ne' Lieti Calici of Pietro Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana, well-known E Lucevan Le Stelle of Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca, 'o sole mio of Di Capua, etc. It was expected that 2 to 3 encore songs would be performed, The Prayer, the theme song of The Magic Sword, the best song of Golden Globe Awards and Time to say goodbye were the songs people could not miss.

Before tonight’s concert began, Mayor Hu personally led honored guests to visit Taichung Park with a history of hundred years, and then arranged to have honored guests experience the fun of Sun Cake DIY, strongly promoting the famous product of Taichung City, Sun Cake, and admired Bocelli’s heaven-like voice together at night.
