The result of the Vote for the 8 New Landscapes of inner and outer Taichung City, via Internet, held by Taichung City Government indicates Dakeng Trail as the top inner landscape and Dongfeng Bikeway, in Taichung County, as the top outer landscape. The vote expires on May 28th and the public, which is fond of other landscapes, may vote via Internet, so the most beautiful landscape will win the championship. 

To promote sightseeing and to distinguish local features, Taichung City Government is holding the Vote for the 8 New Landscapes of inner and outer Taichung City via Internet and invites the public to vote. According to the statements of Yong-Feng Chen, the Chief of Department of News, the Vote for the 8 New Landscapes of inner and outer Taichung City via Internet is confined to the 20 landscapes in Taichung City and 20 landscapes in the central 5 counties within 1-hour driving distance. Meanwhile, the newly selected new inner and outer 8 landscapes will attract more tourists and obtain more regarding the future tour promotion and tourist arrangements.

The result of vote expresses the desire and demand for natural, healthy leisure; the top landscapes, Dakeng Trail for hiking and Dongfeng Bikeway Green Gallery, demonstrate public stress on leisure. Contrarily, the landmark landscapes, such as Sun Moon Lake and Taichung Park, failed to achieve the expected vote. Department of News indicates that it may result from the vote coming from the young generation fond of using computers, whereas the mature generation is fond of slow recreation and leisure failed to vote via Internet.
