The disabled love the earth. Taichung City Government will initiate the event that 15 disability associations in Taihcung City clean 5 parks on the 14th to prove that the disabled can both take care of themselves and feed back into society and allow the disabled to be inclusive in community activities. The citizens are welcome to participate in cleaning hometowns to echo the event.

Department of Social Affairs, Taichung City Government, holds a press conference for Disabled Green Volunteer Day today (10th) announcing that the 14th of June will be the Disabled Green Volunteer Day and disability associations and the disabled will actively clean the community surroundings each year and welcome the community to join in.

Mayor Jason Hu addressed that it meant more for the disabled to be green volunteers because they were able to sense the pain of being hurt, so they are unwilling to let the earth be disabled and intend to protect the earth.

The disabled are stereotyped as being incompetent, those in need of being cared for, so they have difficulty integration with the community; as a result, Taichung City Government holds the Disabled Green Volunteer Day and Saving the Earth event to encourage the potential of the disabled and allow the disabled to participate in community life, allowing the disabled to prove that they are able to love the community and the earth as common people with actual actions.
