918 People's Saxhorn Concert, creating a new record in Taichung (2008-10-18)

The 2008 Taichung Jazz Festival, held in Taichung Citizen Plaza this afternoon, initiates the program by Jazz program and Challenging-Thousand People's Saxhorn Concert. Mayor Hu announces that there are 918 people, who all play at the same time, are participating in the Concert, who all play at the same time to celebrate the new world record. Mayor Hu appreciates friends from all over Taiwan to help Taichung win another internationally- knownrenowned chanceopportunity.


Mayor Hu points out that Toronto, of Canada created set the old world record in 2004 when 900 people played Saxhorns at the same time, and it has been nearly 4 years, in which the record has not been brokeneaking the record. Today, in Taichung Citizen Plaza, we have 918 Saxhorn lovers and performers, exceeding Canada's 900 people, to participate in the new record.


Today's concert attracts Saxhorn players from all over Taiwan, coming to create Taiwan's Light. Legislator Wu, ChiYang; Head of the Department of Railways and Highways of MOTC; City Councilman Wang, ChouTong and Huang, ChaHong; Deputy Mayor Shao; Tseng, KoChung, the Director of the Department of Land Administration; Huang, KoZeng, the Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs Bureau; and Chang, TienJay, the Director of the National Museum of Natural Science all participated in Ttoday's activity. Among the players, 7 year old, Jo, Chai-Lin, 7 years old and 71 year old, Hsei, TsengShon, 71 years old are the youngest and the oldest respectively. Many participants are from Taipei, Taoyuan, Kaohsiung, and even Hwalien Hualien and Taidong show their enthusiastic supports tofor the activity.
