The 27th Super Supau Running Race started at Charlotte park in Taichung this morning. Taichung mayor Hu came early in the morning to encourage people to get outdoors and exercise together. This event not only included a running race but also several entertaining programs. Apart from that, the “Happy Postcard” activity, organized by Vitalon foundation, brought a lot of smiles across the miles.
With a crowd of people who love running, mayor Hu believed everyone would have a happy and healthy running day. Although mayor Hu was tied up with his busy schedule, vice mayor Hsia Chia-Chi stayed and led the crowd to run once the race began.
“The Super Supeau Running Race”, one of the foremost sports events in the region, has attracted countless people to participate in the contest. This year, the participants were grouped by age and gathered together at 6:40 a.m. for warm-up exercise. The race started at 7:00a.m.,. inIn order to obtain good results, all participants made gave their best efforts running all the way to the destination. As tens of thousands of people enjoyed running on the road, the heavily trafficked Chung-Kang road suddenly turned into a runway. Certainly, the race has brought a lot of energy to the city!
This has been the 27th Super Supeau Running Race hosted in Taichung and twenty three thousands of people who participated in this event broke the record. Lai Sheng-En, a dancer from Super Star 3, and Yu Kang-Xian, the winner of International Bartender Championship, were invited to perform fascinating shows.
The culminating point of the activity was the lucky draw. With a lot of cheers, all the big prizes, such as a laptop, digital camera, walkman, portable CD player and bicycle have been drew outwere raffled off. At the end, Taichung city government and Vitalon thanked to all the supports they received and announced that the race for next year is going to be a “Marathon” race.
