The Firefly Restoration Park in the outskirts of Taichung City is where you can appreciate firefly. The best time to enjoy the sight of beautiful star-like fireflies unhurriedly shuttling in the grass is after 19:00 every night from April (End of April is the peak period) to August.
Taichung City Scenic Area Administration reminds you to wear long-sleeved clothes and shoes to avoid mosquito bites, bring your own flashlight but avoid targeting it on people or fireflies, and avoid shouting to each other. It is hoped that viewers will never affect the life of those nocturnal creatures.
